We recently took a road trip from New York to Maine and wanted to share some of the highlights with you!
The drive up was pretty uneventful, although we did hit a bit of traffic around Boston. Once we got out of the city, though, the drive was beautiful. We stopped for lunch in Portsmouth, NH, and then made our way to Portland, ME.
Portland was our first real stop on the trip and we loved it! We walked around the Old Port area, did some shopping, and then grabbed some dinner. We also stumbled upon a great little ice cream place called Gelato Fiasco – definitely worth a visit!
The next day we drove up the coast a bit and stopped at a few of the beaches. We got to see some amazing views and even got to spend some time in the ocean. We also stopped in Kennebunkport, which was just as charming as we imagined it would be.
After a few days in Maine, we started making our way back home. We stopped in Portsmouth, NH for lunch and then made our way back to Boston. We hit a bit of traffic getting into the city, but it was well worth it.
Overall, we had a great time on our road trip, and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun way to see the Northeast!
